The Biscayan company specialising in space technology continues to strengthen its business project, enabling it to consolidate its presence on the international stage and remain at the forefront of innovation in its sector.
SATLANTIS, based in Leioa and dedicated to the development of satellite solutions for Earth observation, currently has a workforce of 200 and subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, the United States, and France.
SATLANTIS develops very high-resolution cameras and observation microsatellites. Its technology allows very precise monitoring of non-linear infrastructures (coastlines, borders, power lines…) through a data blend of numerous simultaneous visible, infrared, polarimetry, video and thermal spectrum bands, for applications in Security, Defence, environmental, energy, infrastructure and agriculture sectors, among others that can serve diverse and high added value markets.
Since its foundation in 2013, the company’s performance has been highly positive, as evidenced by a 48% increase in revenues in 2024, enabling it to establish national and international alliances to address new challenges.
Development of a new infrared camera
SATLANTIS has recently announced an investment of 7.9 million euros to develop a new, very high-resolution infrared thermal camera with a deployable mechanism.
This project, developed with its British subsidiary, SuperSharp, is part of a technological and commercial expansion plan that strengthens the company’s position in the international optical solutions market.
International expansion and strategic alliances
SATLANTIS has also signed a collaboration agreement with the Polish company Creotech Instruments, involving the joint development of an Earth observation satellite to be launched in 2026, equipped with very high-resolution electro-optical technology.
This alliance also includes studying the implementation of a joint venture in Poland, which would enable Satlantis to expand its value chain and reinforce its presence in Central Europe.
SATLANTIS’ recent investments, international alliances and developments consolidate its role as one of the most advanced technological players in the Basque ecosystem.
