Seed Capital Bizkaia, through the BI Fund, has participated in Sherpa.ai’s latest funding round. Sherpa.ai is a Basque artificial intelligence company specialising in data security and privacy.

Founded in 2013, Sherpa.ai has established itself as one of the most advanced European platforms for federated AI, a technology that enables model training without moving or exposing data, thereby reinforcing sovereignty, security, and regulatory compliance.

With this injection of capital, Sherpa.ai will accelerate the development of its platform and expand its deployment across strategic sectors where it already collaborates with leading institutions.

The investment will enable Sherpa.ai to continue developing an AI infrastructure that allows organisations to train, deploy, and operate models collaboratively without sharing sensitive information. This approach is particularly relevant for regulated sectors such as healthcare, finance, industry, cybersecurity, and the public sector, where privacy and security requirements may restrict conventional AI deployment.
