The award for Best Impact Operation acknowledges EFSI’s pioneering model: patient, demanding public capital oriented towards economic, social and environmental results.
The Entrepreneurship and Social Impact Fund (FEIS), managed by Seed Capital Bizkaia, and in which Fiare Banca Ética, Fundación Anesvad and Fundación San Prudencio participate, has been awarded the SpainCap 2026 Award for Best Impact Operation for its investment in and support for KOIKI.
The award recognises, through this operation, a pioneering model of public-private collaboration that uses patient capital and has a long-term vision: to support companies with potential, deliver results, and preserve their capacity to generate economic, social and environmental value.
FEFSI, a pioneer in financing entrepreneurship and social impact
Launched in 2014, EFSI was the first impact investment fund promoted by a state-level Public Administration. Since then, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, through Seed Capital Bizkaia and with the participation of Fiare Banca Ética, Fundación Anesvad and La Fundación San Prudencio, has promoted a pioneering investment model that combines economic exigence, business support and continuous evaluation of the social and environmental results generated by each project.
The investment in KOIKI reflects this approach. The EFSI led the capital round in 2016, with several impact funds participating to support the company. In 2019, after several of the initial funds had exited, the EFSI Fund decided to decisively back KOIKI, maintaining its participation and bringing stability to a project at a critical stage of its transition and growth. This continuity subsequently facilitated the incorporation of new reference partners, thereby reinforcing KOIKI’s capacity for development and potential.
The experience of the FEIS shows that public investment and public-private partnerships can be strategic tools with high potential for economic and social transformation.
Koiki, transforming urban mobility
KOIKI has developed a last-mile urban logistics model based on proximity micro-centres and delivery on foot, by bicycle or by electric vehicles.
In 2025, the company achieved a turnover of 3.2 million euros, 10% higher than the previous year, and operated 48 active centres across 12 autonomous communities.
The impact of the project also extends beyond its economic dimension. 85% of its network was linked to people with intellectual disabilities, those at risk of exclusion, or those with mental health problems. Likewise, its activities avoided 624 tonnes of CO₂ in 2025, with an estimated saving of 0.43 kilograms of CO₂ per distributed package.
One of the territories where KOIKI operates is Bizkaia. The company works with two local hubs covering four enclaves: Getxo-Las Arenas, Barakaldo, Sestao-Santurtzi and Bilbao.
KOIKI combines inclusive employment, sustainable logistics and emissions reduction. Undoubtedly, a way to transform urban mobility to make it more human and sustainable.
